American Box CompanyFor over half a century, American Box has been a leading, independently owned and operated corrugated converter. Based in Shawnee, Kansas, the company serves the Kansas City area and has focused on providing superior customer service and employee satisfaction for nearly half a century. Offering a diverse range of manufacturing capabilities along with their structural and graphic design expertise they deliver to their customers what they need, when they need it.

Challenge

Due to the nature of their business, American Box needed a seamless method to track projects through the entire process while accommodating the many changes that are possible during a project life-cycle.

Solution

American Box investigated many available solutions and ultimately opted to leverage Esko’s WebCenter for Corrugated to manage their project design process.

“We were already an Amtech Software user, so when the opportunity became available to integrate the two platforms and leverage the power of both, the answer was clear which way we needed to go. We have created a seamless project flow minus the complicated issues we were experiencing beforehand,” explains Vince Hayden, General Manager of American Box.

Vince continues, “The true selling point was the seamless integration. We don’t need to perform double data entry, we are improving the quality of the data captured, and it is decreasing the burden on our staff as a spec is automatically created from the integration. Our sales team is now gathering all of the required information as they are guided and prompted through the project process. Discussions are elevated to everyone involved in the process and the push alerts are such a nice feature so our users can stay on track with what is coming next.”

Results

"We are producing 38% more quotes without having to hire more staff."

“We have seen a lot of improvements in design and quoting. This has been a definite quality-of-life improvement for our entire team. We are producing 38% more quotes without having to hire more staff. In 2020 our business experienced 40% growth. During this growth, we had a designer retire but did not need to rehire that position because of the efficiencies of the Esko WebCenter for Corrugated and Amtech Software integration provided for us,” he says.

“Business in today’s world is still relationship and referral based. If you do a good job while being efficient, you earn referrals and that is the highest form of compliment we could receive from our customers. The combination of utilizing Esko WebCenter for Corrugated integrated with Amtech Software enables us to manage our projects, better communicate with our customers, remain efficient within our business, and allows us to continue to scale and grow our business while meeting our customer’s needs,” states Vince.
