Shop Floor Monitoring

Shop Floor Monitoring Software for Packaging and Label Plants

See What Every Machine Is Doing. Know What It's Costing You. Right Now.

If you run a packaging or label plant and you’re still finding out about production problems from your plant manager at the end of the shift or worse, from a customer, ScoreKeeper changes that.

ScoreKeeper is real-time shop floor monitoring software built for corrugated, folding carton, label, and flexible packaging operations. It automatically captures machine speed, setup time, run time, and downtime on every press and converting line ,  no manual operator entry required ,  and puts that data in front of you, your plant manager, and every operator on the floor.

The result: you stop guessing and start managing with facts.

What's it Costing You to Not See Your Shop Floor in Real Time?

Most packaging plant owners don't know their true machine utilization , they estimate it. They don't know where setup time is leaking , until they look at the numbers at month end. They find out a press has been down for 45 minutes when someone walks over and tells them. That gap between what's actually happening on the floor and what you know about it is where margin disappears.

You Find Out About Downtime After the Fact

By the time a supervisor notices a machine has been idle, you've already lost production time you can't recover. ScoreKeeper sends alerts the moment a machine goes down , so you can act, not react.

Operator-Reported Numbers Aren't Reliable

When operators log their own run counts, setup times, and piece counts manually, the data is inconsistent at best. ScoreKeeper captures machine data automatically, so your reports reflect what actually happened , not what someone remembered.

You Don't Know Which Jobs Were Actually Profitable

Without accurate setup time, run speed, and downtime data tied to specific orders, you're estimating job cost after the fact. ScoreKeeper gives you the real numbers behind every order so you can determine true profitability and quote more accurately going forward.

Your Crew Doesn't Know If They're Behind

When operators can't see their run rate vs. goal in real time, there's no natural urgency to close the gap. ScoreKeeper's large-format scoreboard at each machine shows the crew exactly where they stand , and motivates them to perform.

How Does Shop Floor Monitoring Software Work?

ScoreKeeper uses a PLC-based sensor at each machine center to capture production data automatically, no operator input required for counts, speeds, or state changes. That data feeds a central database server and is displayed in real time on dashboards, scoreboard TVs at each machine, tablets, and any browser on your network.

Here's what ScoreKeeper tracks automatically, from the moment a job starts to the moment it ends:

When connected to your MIS or ERP system, ScoreKeeper also pulls order and lineup information so dashboards display planned vs. actual performance for every job running on the floor.

Now Veracode Verified

ScoreKeeper’s code is continuously audited by Veracode, an independent security firm, ensuring the software running your plant floor meets rigorous security standards. As a plant owner, you can be confident that the system collecting your production data is as secure as the business it protects.

What ScoreKeeper Gives You and Your Team

The actual state of every machine is visible at any time on any computer, tablet, or smartphone on your network. You can check production status from your office, from the conference room before a customer call, or from anywhere in the plant. No calls to the floor. No guessing.

A large-format TV scoreboard at each machine shows the operating crew their current run rate vs. goal, pieces completed, and job status,  updated by the second, in vivid color. Crews that can see their performance in real time are more motivated to hit targets and close gaps before the end of the shift.

Set threshold-based alerts for downtime events, for example, any downtime greater than 10 minutes, and receive a notification by email or text message the moment the threshold is crossed. You manage by exception instead of by walking the floor.

When a machine goes down, the operator selects the reason from a plant-defined list on a tablet at the machine. That reason populates the chronology of events and the downtime report automatically, so you always know why production stopped, not just that it did.

At the end of every shift, ScoreKeeper generates a comprehensive shift report showing:

  • Orders run and order-level specifics
  • Production efficiency, uptime efficiency, and waste efficiency
  • Downtime by reason, shown as a pie chart and a detailed list
  • Machine OEE calculated from individual efficiency components
  •  Historical metrics going back up to one year

All report data exports to Excel for further analysis or integration into your reporting workflow.

View production trends across machines and shifts to detect recurring issues before they become chronic. Use historical run data to identify where setup time can be reduced, which jobs consistently run slower than estimated, and which machines are underperforming against their rated capacity.

The Data ScoreKeeper Captures

Standard (All Installations)

When Connected to Your MIS or ERP System

Works on Any Machine and Any Discrete Manufacturing Process

ScoreKeeper is machine agnostic. It works on any piece of equipment where production can be counted by piece or measured linearly, corrugators, flexo folder-gluers, die cutters, label presses, laminators, slitters, and finishing equipment. If it runs jobs, ScoreKeeper can monitor it.

It also works alongside any MIS or ERP system, not just Amtech’s. For plants already running EnCore ERP, ScoreKeeper integrates directly, connecting live machine performance data to the order, schedule, and cost records already in your system.

System Requirements and Installation

ScoreKeeper is built around standard, off-the-shelf hardware components supplied by Amtech. Wireless components are available to minimize installation costs and disruption to the plant floor.

  • One enclosure with PLC and termination points for hard-wired inputs
  • One TV display appliance
  • One PC database collection server (one per plant, not per machine)
  • One desktop or tablet PC
  • One large-format TV monitor

If you want to pull setup and run speed targets from your plant floor or business system, ScoreKeeper includes an optional data link that feeds that information directly into dashboards, displays, and reports.

Better Together: ScoreKeeper and Advanced Planning Board

ScoreKeeper pairs directly with Amtech’s Advanced Planning Board (APB) scheduling software. APB builds and sequences the production schedule. ScoreKeeper shows you, in real time, whether that schedule is actually being executed.

When a machine falls behind, you know immediately. When setup time on a job exceeds the estimate, it shows up in the data automatically. When you need to know whether your plant is on track to ship tomorrow’s orders, you don’t have to ask anyone, you look at the dashboard.

Together, APB and ScoreKeeper give you the scheduling intelligence and the floor-level visibility to run a tighter, more profitable plant.
