Track & Trace for Label Traxx

Know Where Every Job Is and What Every Roll Touched

Follow work in process across the floor and trace material history from a raw roll to finished rolls, serialized cartons, pallets, and the shipping manifest. Track & Trace for Label Traxx gives converters a clearer answer when a customer asks where an order is—or what else may be affected by a quality problem.

What Is Track & Trace for Label Traxx?

Track & Trace is a licensed Label Traxx module that tracks work-in-process rolls on the production floor and traces material history in both directions. Building on Label Traxx’s raw-material roll control, it preserves the connections between parent material, work-in-process rolls, finished rolls, serialized cartons, pallets, orders, and shipping manifests as material moves through printing, slitting, rewinding, packing, and shipping preparation. Existing customers can add it to their Label Traxx environment, while prospective customers can include it with Label Traxx to manage production and material history in the same ERP platform built for their industry.

Know Where Every Job Is

Reduce the floor walk required to answer routine status questions. Track & Trace records the details needed to understand the location, progress, identity, and value of work in process.

  • Identify where a work-in-process roll is located without relying on a physical search across the production floor.
  • Use the production record to understand how work is moving through the operation and respond to job-status questions with greater confidence.
  • Record length, width, number across, location, parent material, lineal feet used, slitting lane, press, and operator.
  • Maintain the production and material relationships needed to see what is held in work in process instead of treating every roll as an isolated item.
  • Help CSRs respond to order-status questions without waiting for someone to walk the floor and report back.

Follow Every Roll Through Production

A raw roll may be printed, split into lanes, rewound, and converted into multiple finished rolls, each of which needs to stay connected to the material and production steps that created it. Track & Trace preserves those parent-child relationships as a job moves through production, links finished rolls to their material history, and connects serialized cartons and pallets to the shipping manifest. With those records available in Label Traxx, production, customer service, quality, and leadership can follow material from its arrival at the plant through shipment without piecing the history together from paper records and spreadsheets.

From Raw Material to Shipping Manifest

Raw and Parent Material

Preserve the relationship between the incoming material and the work-in-process rolls produced from it.

Work in Process

Record the roll details and production context that describe where the material is, how it was processed, and what created it.

Finished-Roll Parentage

Label finished rolls with the history needed to connect them back to their parent material and production path.

Serialized Cartons and Pallets

Connect finished product to specific cartons and pallets instead of relying on a broad date range or general shipment description.

Shipping Manifest

Tie serialized handling units to the manifest so the material history continues through the point of shipment.

FAQ

What is Track & Trace for Label Traxx?

Track & Trace is a licensed Label Traxx module that tracks work-in-process rolls on the production floor and maintains backward and forward material history from raw material through finished rolls, serialized cartons, pallets, and shipping manifests.

Tracking tells you where something is right now. Tracing tells you where it came from and everything it touched. Tracking supports daily visibility; tracing provides the material history needed to investigate a quality event or recall.

No. Existing customers can add Track & Trace to their Label Traxx environment. Prospective customers can purchase the module with Label Traxx as part of a broader ERP implementation.

The module records length, width, number across, location, parent material, lineal feet used, slitting lane, press, and operator, along with the relationships that connect rolls through production.

Users can trace backward from an affected finished product to the relevant source material or production step, then trace forward to the other rolls, orders, serialized cartons, pallets, and shipments connected to that source.

Yes. Finished rolls retain their parentage, and cartons and pallets can be serialized and connected to a shipping manifest.

Yes. WIP location and ticket-progress information can reduce the need to walk the floor before responding to a customer asking where an order is.

The module is especially relevant for converters facing stronger traceability requirements from brand owners or serving markets such as food, pharmaceutical, and chemical labeling. It can also help any operation that wants clearer WIP visibility and more precise material history.

Track & Trace is planned for initial customer availability in November–December 2026, with additional customer implementations to follow.
